Rick Steve's Profiled as the 'Travelers Aide' in Time Magazine
June 2009
Steves' approach to travel is suited for a time of economic distress. He encourages readers to go to Europe through what he has long called its "back door," like a neighbor, staying in modest hotels, eating in local cantinas, for what he believes is a more casual and authentic journey. "It's spending less but experiencing more," Steves explains.
A knack for finding the unsung dungeon for dinner helps explain why Steves is the unchallenged Baedeker of his generation: he just works it harder than anyone else does. Over the past three decades, Steves, now 54, has written more than 30 European guidebooks, phrase books and travel companions.

The Essential Adventure Equipment:
Men's Journal (May 2006)
The May 2006 issue of the Men's Journal gear Guide lists our Rolling BMR Duffel in the mobile storage section of its gear guide. The editor writes: "Those torpedo-shaped growths known as roof boxes practically scream "tourist" -- or, worse, "valuables inside." Another option: Kiva Designs' 8,064-cu-in 36" Rolling BMR Duffel. With its integrated lash system, you can strap it securely to your rig's roof rack, then roll it down upon arrival. A removable cover keeps everything dry."

2006 Outside Buyers Guide
Release Date: March 2006
Outside's 2006 Buyers Guide lists KIVA's
36" Rolling BMR Rack Lash in its travel
luggage section.
The editor writes: "Take it on the
road with this ingenious 8,064 cubic inch rolling duffel,
which mounts on rooftop racks. The Rack Lash cruised like
any good wheelie, and when late arrivals meant trudging along
darkened streets, its reflective fabric helped safeguard against
unpredictable traffic. Peel open the Big Mouth top and its
reflective Spacecloth lining illuminates the gigantic compartment
like a floodlight.
